Debora J KhanDebbie Khan is an accountant that is an expert in QuickBooks and in payroll. Serving small business owners across central Illinois, Debbie is based in the Champaign-Urbana area. She has worked with small businesses from Decatur, Tuscola, Arthur, Paxton, Danville, Hoopeston, and even in central Kansas! While working as an accounting supervisor for a corporation, Debbie found that she really loved problem solving and creating customized reports and spreadsheets. She also found that she loved working with small business owners and all the different hats they need to wear.

Debbie has been a ProAdvisor with QuickBooks since 2007 and has achieved the Advanced Certification level. Debbie has been an accountant for 22 years and in that time has reconciled the checkbook of a non-profit organization that had not reconciled to their bank statements in several years. She has helped small business owners set up QuickBooks from the box at business startup. She has helped business owners recapture data when their QuickBooks files crashed for multiple reasons. She has extracted a single year of data from multiple years for an IRS audit request and many more situations rescued.

Debbie received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Georgia State University in 1992. She has been an accounting supervisor for the last 13 years and is now in business for herself. Debbie also had previous experience as a small business owner when she owned Balloon Designs By Debbie. She did balloon décor for weddings, sporting events, parties, receptions, etc. as well as clowning for various events and creating balloon animals. So she understands all the different roles a small business owner needs to fill.

When Debbie is not working, she enjoys spending time playing with her grandchildren, and family. She also is an avid reader and loves many different kinds of needlework – from quilting to knitting.
